Nepal Govt. sends diplomatic note to India on border dispute

By Chadani Hamal, Kathmandu, May 11: The Government of Nepal today sent a diplomatic note to India regarding the border issue.

Minister for Foreign Affairs, Pradip Kumar Gyawali, on behalf of the government, sent the diplomatic note to the Indian government.

Minister Gyawali handed over the note to Vinay Mohan Kwatra, Indian ambassador to Nepal, informed Bharat Raj Poudel, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).

The Nepal government sent the diplomatic note with an initiative to resolve the ongoing border issue regarding construction and so called inauguration of ‘Link Road’ in Lipu Lekh passing through Nepali territory.

In the diplomatic note, Minister Gyawali has included Nepal’s official view regarding the border issue.  

Also, Minister Gyawali and ambassador Kwatra discussed about the required measures in solving the border dispute peacefully.

The Nepal government is also looking forward to a high-level initiative to resolve the ongoing border dispute with India.
