By Nabaraj Kattel, Biratnagar, May 10: Upendra Rai, 26, who tested positive for COVID-19 46 days after returning from Saudi Arabia got discharged from the hospital today.

He had not developed any symptoms or effects of COVID-19 disease during his treatment.

Rai, a resident of Bhojpur Hatuwagadhi-6, was admitted to the Koshi Hospital on April 25 after being diagnosed with COVID-19.

"The virus which had been affecting the whole world didn’t affect me much as I didn’t develop any symptoms of it," he said.

"My health condition is normal despite being infected by the virus," said Rai. "Only the doctor could know from the tests that I was suffering from COVID-19."

He had returned to Nepal from Saudi Arabia on March 10. "I wasn’t scared at all when I came to know that I was infected by the novel coronavirus as I had been staying at home for 46 days," said Rai.

I tested positive for the virus without developing any symptoms of it and after weeks of hospital stay, I tested negative for the virus without any effect of the disease, said Rai.

Rai said that he would stay in quarantine set up by the local level for 14 more days before returning home.

"It is appropriate for me to stay in quarantine for some time to increase confidence of my family members and neighbours that I have won my battle against the virus," said Rai.

Likewise, Muzair Alam, 40, who also got discharged from Koshi Hospital today after recovering from the virus said that he would change his daily routine as prescribed by the doctors.

He said that he would continue consulting the doctors regarding his health status.
