By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug. 7: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has confirmed five cases of COVID-19 death today.
Of the five patients who succumbed to COVID-19, three are from Parsa district and one each from Siraha and Sarlahi districts.
A 45-year old male of Birgunj Metropolitan City (BMC)-9, Maisthan, who was suffering from COVID-19, died on August 6 while receiving treatment in Patan Hospital, Lalitpur. He was also suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure.
Likewise, a 79-year-old male of BMC-11, Shreepur, who died on August 4, was found to be infected with the virus, said Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the ministry in the daily press briefing today.
A 57-year-old male of BMC-11, Shreepur also succumbed to the virus on August 6. He was suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure and chronic heart disease and breathed his last on Thursday morning at around 9:00 am.
A 25-year-old male of Golbazaar Municipality-2, Siraha, who had tested positive for COVID-19, died on August 6 while receiving treatment in BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan. He was a kidney patient and was having his dialysis done regularly.
Similarly, a 45-year old male COVID-19 patient, originally from Basantapur, Sarlahi, died on Friday morning at 8:40 am, while receiving treatment at Patan Hospital, Lalitpur.
With this, the COVID-19 death toll in Nepal has reached 70.
