By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Aug. 6: The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has confirmed five cases of COVID-19 death today.
Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the ministry in the daily press briefing today, said that the COVID-19 death toll of the nation had reached 65 with five fatalities in the last 24 hours.
"A 45-year old COVID-19 patient of Rangeli Municipality-8, Morang, died on August 5 while being taken to the Koshi Hospital, Biratnagar," said Dr. Gautam.
Likewise, another 45-year old male of Biratnagar Metropolitan City also succumbed to the virus, he added.
"A 65-year old female of Malangawa, Sarlahi, who had tested positive for the virus, died on August 5 while receiving treatment at the COVID-19 Hospital, Balambu," added Dr. Gautam.
Also, a 72-year old female of Dhanusa, who died on August 1 while receiving treatment at the Om Hospital, Kathmandu, was found to be COVID-19 positive. She was also suffering from asthma, hypothyroidism, high blood pressure, diabetes and pneumonia.
Moreover, 360 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded on Thursday across the nation, taking the national tally to 21,750 including 15,389 cases of recovery and 65 death cases.
A 42-year old male of Saptari also succumbed to COVID-19 on August 5.
With this, the COVID-19 death toll has reached 65 and the national caseload stands at 21,750 including 15,389 cases of recovery.
