By Dhirendra Prasad Shah, Rajbiraj, July 17: Saptari recorded its first ever COVID-19 death on Thursday.
A 73-year old COVID-19 patient, prominent businessperson of the area, breathed his last on Thursday while receiving treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences (BPKIHS), Dharan, informed Duniyalal Yadav, Chief of Saptari District Health Office.
He was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday. He was found to be COVID-19 positive on Thursday. He was then admitted to the isolation ward of the hospital.
Soon after the admission, he succumbed to the SARS-CoV-2 infection.
The elderly was also suffering from sugar, high blood pressure and heart disease.
The District Crisis Management Committee is discussing to dispose the body in Saptakoshi, informed Chief Yadav.
