By Nawaraj Kattel, Biratnagar, Aug. 21: A male of Biratnagar-6, aged 45, who was at home isolation after being tested positive for COVID-19, succumbed to the virus infection at about 8 pm on Thursday at his home.
Bijaya Kamat, Ward Chair, informed that the person who died was found infected with the virus on August 19 and was a chronic patient of sugar and blood pressure.
Preparations for the disposal of the dead body are underway as the Ward Chair was informed of it only this morning.
"They were preparing for cremation on their own. I stopped it and information came late because the neighbours did not visit the house as being that of an infected person," said the ward chair.
Nepali Army is preparing for the disposal of the dead body.
With this, number of death cases due to COVID-19 in Biratnagar Metropolis has reached 8.
