A total of 113 classrooms of 38 schools of five local levels in Makawanpur district have child-friendly environment.
Community Development Organisation Nepal has created such child-friendly classrooms.
Arjun Khadka, programme coordinator of the organisation, informed that child-friendly accommodation without benches has been managed for classes up to Grade III where lessons are on display on the wall.
Child-friendly school classes have been constructed in Manahari, Bhimfedi, Raksirang, Bakaiya and Bagmati. The organisation has stated that it has carried out training on making educational materials, minor physical maintenance of the school and other works for child-friendly teaching-learning activities.
Deepak Karki, headmaster of Suryodaya Secondary School, said that the learning achievement has been helpful for both the teachers and the students after the construction of the child-friendly classrooms.
"Even students who forgot to bring a copy of the book can read it by looking at the wall," said headmaster Karki.
On Sunday, people's representatives, parents, civil society and guardians monitored the child-friendly classes and wall book management in the schools in wards 2 and 3 of Raksirang Rural Municipality.
Babulal Syangtan, chairman of ward 3, said that teaching-learning has improved after the management of child-friendly classrooms.
