18 Maldivians flown to Dhaka by Nepal Airlines

Kathmandu, April 19 : Nepal Airlines has flown altogether 18 Maldivians stranded in Nepal to Bangladeshi capital Dhaka today.    
The narrow body A320 airplane flew to Dhaka from the only international airport in the country- Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), according to the TIA Managing Director Devendra KC.    
The Maldivian government chartered the flight of the national carrier to rescue its citizen from Nepal stranded following the lockdown. The government here ordered a nationwide lockdown to contain the outbreak of COVID-19.    
The aircraft which flew to Dhaka will return Kathmandu today itself. The Maldivians will board a flight in a different aircraft from Dhaka to fly home. It is an hour long flight from Kathmandu to Dhaka.
