Kathmandu, Apr. 10: The Quarantine Campaign Virtual Theater Festival drama is streamed twice a day.
The festival organisers are streaming two plays a day due to the exciting participation and feedback from the audience.
According to festival director Kedar Shrestha, the festival will conclude soon, although many plays are still pending. “Accordingly it was decided to perform two plays a day so that all received plays could be shown in the festival,” he added.
On Thursday, “Adheri Nagari Chaupat Raja”, a drama jointly directed by Sangeet Sapkota and Aashisha Ghimire, was streamed at 1 pm and “The Flight”, a dance drama directed by Alize Biannic was showcased at 5 pm.
Likewise, “Madman’s diary” directed by Che Shankar, “Garbha Chita” directed by Hira Bijuli, “TO Be” and “Bhoko Ghar” are on the list of some of the plays that will be aired on the festival through the official Facebook page of Theatre Mall, Kritipur.
Shrestha said that the streaming of plays would conclude on Saturday while the festival would formally conclude on Sunday by organising a special programme. The virtual drama festival had begun on March 24 on the occasion of World Theater Day.
Theatre Mall, Kritipur and Theatre Centre for Children (TCC) have jointly organised the virtual drama festival with the aim maintaining a continuous connection with the theatre audiences even during the nationwide lockdown imposed by the government to COVID-19 pandemic.
