Kathmandu, Nov. 23: The Metropolitan Traffic Police is now conducting various public awareness campaigns and activities with the objective of making the transportation system in the Kathmandu Valley safer, orderly and effective.
Lately, the traffic department has been spreading awareness about various traffic rules through songs and music.
Recently, the traffic police have prepared a dance video containing the traffic rules to teach the public.
Chief of the Division and Senior Superintendent of Police Bhim Prasad Dhakal said that the department has released a traffic dance video containing 25 practical traffic rules as the simple road users can easily remember, accept and follow the rules by listening to the songs and watching the dance.
The video song consists of the traffic rules such as following the traffic signs, not driving under the influence of alcohol, using helmets and seat belts, following the lane discipline, not overtaking and using the zebra crossings and overhead bridges.
Saroj Oli and Eleena Chauhan have given the vocals in the song whereas Manaram KC has directed the choreography and Prakash Bhatt cinematography of the video.
The music video is edited by Bishnu Sharma. The lyric is by Baburam Dahal.
Likewise, under the Musical Dummy Campaign for Public Awareness on Traffic Rules, the traffic police department has also released an audio song to raise awareness on traffic rules.
Veteran comedian Haribansh Acharya, Madan Krishna Shrestha, Manoj Gajurel, Deepashree Niraula, Jitu Nepal, SSP Dhakal and social worker Radha Pokharel are featured in the dummy.
SSP Dhakal said that now the number of people following traffic rules has increased. At present, the odd and even system is still in place, but the vehicles of essential services are allowed to ply, said Dhakal.
