Kathmandu, Oct. 5: Darpan Chhaya was a super hit movie of 2001. The film broke all box office records of that time and became the highest earning Nepali film.
It took four years to break the earning record set by this Tusli Ghimire’s film. Only Hami Tin Bhai in 2004 had broken its record.
Although so many films have been produced over the years, with many of them becoming hits, Darpanchhaya is still considered to be an era-changing film.
Its song “Lahanale Jurayo Ki” is still popular among the audience and performed in events and programmes.
Niruta Singh, Uttam Pradan and Dilip Rayamajhi had done the lead roles in this movie.
The hit love triangle film is again in the process of remaking. Actor Uttam Pradhan has prepared a story and he himself will direct the film “Darpanchhya Pachhi”.
Like in Darpanchhaya, Dilip, Uttam and Niruta will also be doing the lead roles in the sequel.
The story of the new film begins from where the first movie had ended, said actor Rayamajhi.
He informed that Uttam is trying to explore the story 20 years after the old Darpanchhaya’s story.
The original film was directed by Tulsi Ghimire.
Ghimire again made the “Darpan Chhaya 2” , however, the film could not do well in the box -office.
Actor Dilip Rayamajhi is very excited to do the film with his old lead actors. He said that doing Darpanchhaya again was very challenging for all of us as the original film had won the heart of the people.
However, he is very positive that they could again win the heart of the audience through the new version of the movie.
He added that they would begin the shooting of the movie as soon as the government allows them to do that.
