Script submission deadline for Story Bank extended

Kathmandu, Dec.29: The Film Development Board (FDB) Sunday reissued a notice and extended the deadline for the submission of scripts after the filmmakers demanded more time.
The FDB had envisioned the Story Bank with the aim of assisting in the production of original and artistic films.
The 21-day deadline of the first issuance of the notice expired on Sunday.
With the intention of helping in the production of indigenous and original films, the Board had recently formulated a working procedure of Story Bank 2077- BS.
According to FDB member secretary Mahendra Prasad Sankhi, with the demand of filmmakers, the Board has decided to extend the deadline to submit scripts.
Five original stories selected from those received in the Story Bank will get various facilities from the state.
The Board has stated that it will co-produce three of the five selected feature films and two short films.
The Board informed that the state would provide various facilities for making films based on the five original stories selected for the ‘Story Bank’.
The FDB will also co-produce some of the scripts received by the Board and provide expertise in the writing process as required.
After receiving all the submissions, a three-member committee will be formed to recommend the best scripts to the board, said Sankhi.
