Kathmandu, Mar 2 : Saptarangi Nepal, a literary organisation, marked its first anniversary amidst a function in Kathmandu the other day.
Young and established literary figures from seven states attended the programme. Addressing the celebratory function, Nepal Academy Chancellor Ganga Prasad Upreti said that the name, Saptarangi, was itself enough to indicate the mission and goal of this literary institution, which he said had brighter future.
Advisor of the organisation Devi Nepal suggested that it should run regular series to promote literature and inspire writers. Its custodian Haribhakta Sigdel ‘Mahesh’ said that the organisation had been able to leave impact at home and abroad.
Literary figures- Kalanidhi Dahal, Yuba Raj Mainali and Puskar Lohani had appreciated Saptarangi for its role in uplifting Nepali literature and language.
Saptarangi Nepal chair Keshav Raj Bhatta Sagar informed that it would organise literary programmes in all seven states.
Poet Binod Dahal Batsa was awarded with Sher Bahadur Kanchhi Muktinath Darshan Puraskar at the function.
On the occasion, magazine entitled Saptarangi was also released to mark the event. In English, the word ‘Saptarangi’ stands for rainbow.
