By Uma KC, Rolpa, Aug. 6: A People's War museum, the first of its kind as reminiscence of the decade-long insurgency, has been established in Rolpa district.

The People's War Memorial National Museum was built in the main entrance of Tila of Tribeni Rural Municipality.

The developers said that the museum was established to keep the history of People's War alive and make the young generation familiar to that historical movement.

The museum demonstrates the incidents of sacrifice, war, women people's liberation army and their rare pictures.

A former PLA, Agrim Pun, shared that such images recalled his wartime memories.

"The future generation will know our deeds performed in the past from the museum. We have created a golden history from the war," Pun added.

Being the first People's War museum in the country, lots of things can be learnt from its observation, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of the State No. 5 Kul Prasad KC said while expressing his pleasure from the development of the museum.

According to KC, wartime research works also can be done by observing the museum.

Likewise, former president of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) Rolpa chapter Khem Budhamagar said that the materials portraying the war-era memories should be kept as the samples.

The museum consists of PLA's barrack's entire physical structures and trench, duty post and others too.

The museum stretched in almost seven hectares of land is developed with Rs 5 million received from the State Government and Rs 4 million from the federal government. However, some money is yet to be spent due to lockdown order.
