NTB to organise fashion show at highest point

Kathmandu, July 20: The second edition of the ‘Mount Everest Fashion Runway’, the world’s highest-altitude fashion show, is going to be held on September 6.
With the aim of promoting Nepal’s tourism, models and celebrities from various countries along with Nepal will take part in the show.
Co- organised by K Films and ME 2 Films, the first Fashion Runway was held in January last year.
The first edition of the show was included in the Guinness Book of World Records last year.
The organisers are also planning to list the upcoming edition of the show in the Book of Guinness World Records as well as 200 participants of the show are also planning to enlist them in the Guinness World Records individually, said the organiser.
Speaking at a press meet on Monday, Dr. Dhananjaya Regmi, Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Tourism Board, said that they had made various plans to promote mountainous, hilly and Terai regions of Nepal.
“This show will add a new dimension to our plan,” he added.
Speaking at the event, Pankaj K. Gupta, President of K Films, said that the fashion show to be organised at the highest altitude has adopted the concept of sustainable
tourism.
The fashion show will be directed by operator of ME 2 Films India and Reality Shows directors Shruti Anindita Barma and Amitabh S. Barma.
According to Ramila Nemkul, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the company, the programme will be a pride for Nepal and they are also planning to promote the Nepali costumes in the show as per the needs.
