Nepali movies now minting money: Dinesh KC

Kathmandu, Feb. 29  Dinesh K.C., a popular and one of the successful actors in Nepali cinema, has begun his acting career since 2009.
Born at Jhyanku of Dolakha district, K.C. has done over a dozen films in a decade. ‘I am Crazy’ was his debut movie. His other movies are Danav, Badshah, Khatarnakh, Jhamela, Raja, Sisha, Lale, Nishaf, Nipathya and Kamandar.
Currently, he is busy doing his new movie Daudaan.
“Recently, I have inked an agreement to do Daudaan,” he said.
He also said that he was going to receive the highest remuneration of his career from the movie. He said he was offered Rs. 1.55 million.
“Almost all of my films have become popular and the audiences too have liked them, by establishing me in the industry as a successful actor,” he boasted.
He said that he did not have to look for another career after he joined the film industry.
Due to his positive attitude and hardworking nature, directors and film producers want him in their films, he shared.
K.C. has also received various awards. He received D-Cine Award 2015, National Film Award 2015 and Nepal Dance Cine Award-2018.
He has also worked as a jury member in the National Level Dance Competition 2013, Miss Globe International Nepal 2016 and National FAAN Award 2017.
In course of promoting his films, K.C. had visited Thailand, Singapore, Dubai, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherland, France, Belgium, Norway, China, London and Japan.
Stating that Nepal is virgin land for film shootings as cultural and natural beauties here attract the world, he said that international film producers and artists should visit Nepal at least once for the shooting of their movie.
"If the country attracts international film artists, not only Nepali artistes will benefit from it, but also Nepal’s tourism will be promoted,” K.C said.
He was happy seeing that Nepali film producers have started increasing their investment in filmmaking by applying highly modern technology and equipment in filmmaking and paying hefty amount to the actors.
"Nepali films are gradually becoming professional and the industry has been providing jobs to many people.
The demand of Nepali films abroad is also increasing. All these are positive aspects of Nepali films," he said.
