Kathmandu, Aug. 25: The 12th edition of the Nepali Mela UK is going to be held on Sunday.
The fair, organised every year by the Tamu Dhee Association of the United Kingdom, will be held at the Kempton Park Racecourse, Sunbury-on-Thames Middlesex and will be open for visitors from 10 am to 8 pm, the organisers informed in a virtual press conference on Sunday.
Speaking at the press conference, Hari Gurung, coordinator of the fair, said that the Mela would feature stalls selling Nepali products as well as artists performing cultural dances of Nepal. He also shared that there would be a cultural performance competition and a summer barbeque.
According to the Tamu Dhee Association, the fair is being organised with the financial support of the Embassy of Nepal in London and is intended to promote the theme ‘Our Culture, Our Identity, Our Pride’.
Entrants will be required to buy a ticket to enter the fair. These tickets will then be collected and entered into a lottery where the first prize is a tola of gold, second prize is a tablet and the third prize is £100, the organisers stated.
