More artistes test positive for coronavirus

Kathmandu, Oct. 31: From the general public to heads of states, COVID-19 pandemic has adversely affected everyone.
Many artistes in the Nepali entertainment sector have also been infected with the coronavirus. Actor, producer and director Ashok Sharma, who has been found to be infected with the virus, is one among others.
A PCR test conducted at Nepal Medical College on Thursday confirmed the presence of coronavirus in Sharma.
Sharma on Friday said that he had contracted the virus. He has requested everyone who came in contact with him to be vigilant.
Sharma said, “The PCR report of my test, which was conducted at Nepal Medical College yesterday, came positive. Family members, friends, relatives, office staffs who came in contact with me are requested to be alert and stay safe and test even if there are no symptoms as I also have no symptoms.”
Returning home after celebrating Dashain, he did the coronavirus test as a precautionary measure and found to be infected.
Not only Sharma, comedian Manoj Gajurel, media person Ravi Lamichhane and his wife producer Nikita Poudel were also tested positive for the coronavirus.
Lamichhane had been suffering from mild fever since last Tuesday.
During the PCR test done on Wednesday, Lamichhane mentioned that he and his wife Nikita also tested positive for coronavirus.
Likewise, stand-up comedian Gajurel is in home isolation after being tested positive for coronavirus from Monday.
Only a few days ago, veteran comedian Hari Bansh Acharya and his wife Ramila Acharya became free from coronavirus after staying in home isolation for about 16 days. Acharya urged everyone not to consider coronavirus as normal and not to be panic as well.
Other artistes like Bijay Lama, musicians Lochan Rijal, Tank Budathoki, among others, have won the fight against coronavirus.
