Janakpurdham, Sept. 19: Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘’Prachanda’ has said that the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) couldn’t be passed without amendment.

Addressing the cadres’ training organised by the party provincial committee of Province 2 in Janakpurdham on Saturday, chairman Prachanda said the current agreement on MCC could not be passed as it was not original.
The provision of ratifying MCC from parliament was not incorporated in the MCC agreement signed by the then Sher Bahadur Deuba-led government.

The provision was added later after the foreign minister of KP Oli-led government went to the United States, he added.
He opined that to ratify the MCC, the national consensus should be reached by amending and modifying the agreement. Dialogue between various political parties, intellectuals and journalists is a must for this, he added.
Stating that there was no difference of opinion between the parties of the ruling alliance, Chairman Prachanda said the Cabinet would get full shape within September 20.

“The efforts were made in the past by the reactionary forces to prevent the formation of the alliance. The same forces are now spreading baseless and false rumours against the alliance,” said Prachanda.
The alliance formed to safeguard democracy and constitution would work together for the country and the people in the days to come, he added.
