Lyricist DR Upadhyaya sets 80 world records

Kathmandu, Dec. 11: Lyricist Dr. DR Upadhyaya has succeeded to set 80 world records.
He added 21 new world records on Thursday, taking the list to 80.

At a special ceremony held in the capital on Thursday, Shailendra Khanal, Inspector General of Nepal Police, Chundamani Devkota, outgoing president of the Lyricists’ Association, Radheshyam Lekali, president of the International Nepali Literary Association (ANESAS), and Mathura Shrestha, founder of Everest World Records, jointly presented him 21 world records.
Before this, Dr. Upadhyay had set 59 different world records.

Speaking at the programme, IGP Khanal said that Upadhyaya’s works were exemplary for Nepalis and not everyone can do what Upadhyaya has done.
Similarly, musician Santosh Shrestha said that it was a matter of pride for the whole of country and not a person.

Dr. Upadhyay said that he was doing each work distinctly, which had become a new world record.
Stating that he has done all this for the country, Upadhyaya said that he was moving forward with the goal of increasing his world records to 100 soon.
Dr. Upadhyay holds the American Book of Records, Asian World Record, Champion Book of World Records, World Talent Book, Everest World Record, European Record Book, URF World Record, Asian World Record, and 21 records from The British World Record.

The 21 genres he recorded included songs related to various rhythms of music on classical beats, lyrical poems featuring traffic signs, major capital cities of the world, animal names, world heritage, world famous cakes, the names of the world’s oldest temples.

Dr. Upadhyaya has published 25 song albums, 12 novels and three song books so far.
