Live And Let Others Live

The world we live in has made immense progress. In this world full of creatures, humans consider themselves superior. They are known to be social creatures. They are called so because of their unique ability to engage in complex reasoning and introspection.
For a long-time, humans have been setting social norms and values and have limited themselves from crossing lines in a few aspects. Every human by their birth is bound by some set of rules.  As a mark of the highest level of the creature with reasoning capability, they aren’t allowed to break the rules and undermine social values and norms.

Disruption
Disrupt Nevertheless, as we all are aware that not all humans are the same, some tend to disrupt and violate the norms and moral values set by the community and drive them to the path of crime. To control these criminal activities, all countries around the globe have enacted and implemented certain laws that set a certain level of restraints on human activities. If in case they violate these laws, they are subject to punishment of various degrees.
Despite several laws,  the rate of crime across the world seems to be increasing every day.
In the context of Nepal, crime was never the major issue faced by the country. However, with our country experiencing rapid modernisation in recent times, the rate of crime has started ballooning. Crimes like corruption, gender discrimination, kidnapping, murder, robbery, cyber crimes, smuggling, rape among others are taking place.
People here are having difficulty in leading a normal life because of such social deviation. The ineffectiveness of the judiciary can be perceived as we can see the criminals roaming around the streets while the victims wait for justice.
The major reason for the increasing criminal activities in Nepal is the Nepalese themselves. In Nepal, people are taught to either ignore the problem or adjust to it. Nobody tries to eradicate them from the roots. For example, people around the country, especially in all the rural areas, believe in superstitious beliefs. These superstitions performed in different areas of the country are killing several people, which we aren’t even aware of, which even the media doesn’t cover. The people who witness the damage are accustomed to ignoring it. They still support the patriarchal system, which deprives young girls of all the rights ensured by the government.
Women's safety has also become one of the hot topics in Nepal. Every day, we get to hear news about women being raped, murdered,
or attacked brutality. Despite having numerous organisations working to ensure the rights of women, the voices of women are either overlooked or suppressed.
People are scared of experimenting with new technologies as scams prevail in every corner of the country. For instance, recently we heard about the incident about Pathao, a ride-sharing system, wherein a girl had booked a bike-ride service, but a random stranger tried to cheat her saying he was from the ride-sharing agency.
The girl checked the address and details on time that saved her from facing trouble. Numerous such events are occurring in our country daily and not all people are lucky to save themselves from such frauds. These kinds of problems should not be left unnoticed. Because the more we ignore them, the more are chances we fall victims to such frauds.
Due to widespread modernisation around the globe and lack of awareness among the people, the bad influence seems to be affecting the Nepalese youth. Crooks are committing crimes but they do not seem to feel guilty about it. Not a single country in the world is a hundred per cent crime-free, but many have made immense progress in terms of providing safety to their people through a sound law and order system.
Slowly and gradually, with the spread of education and awareness, many Nepalese are becoming aware of their situation. They are raising voice against the wrong happening around them. Still, there is a long way to go as the majority of them are still in the dark. Many of them are still scared to talk about their problems because they have one way or another been taught to adjust to whatever situation they face. The worst part is- even the educated citizens do not hesitate to adjust to such a situation instead of raising their voice against it.

Adjustment
The trend of making adjustments needs to change. We are living in the 21st century that is known as the century of advancement and technology. Thankfully, with the help of education, people are now able to distinguish between right and wrong.  So, people need to step up and be able to put forth their honest opinion against the wrong situation that they face.
In today's advanced world, it takes just a few seconds to reveal people's true colours in front of millions of people. So, these technologies should be utilised to maintain unity among the people globally.
We all know that nobody is born evil. But the bad environment of their upbringing makes them evil. So, we have time in our hands to shape young minds into creative and positive and pure souls.
We all get to live one life that is indeed quite enjoyable. We are lucky to have this beautiful life. So, we should be thankful for every moment we spend. We should try to make our life peaceful and meaningful. All we need is the fundamental idea- to live and let others live. We should not involve ourselves in negativity and should not be destroying others' lives. Rather, we must think of making our as well as others' lives better. One must try to make life worth living.
