Kathmandu, Sept. 8: It is a common practice to portray the story of society in songs. These days the trend of telling stories in music videos has increased.
When we look at the songs that have been launched recently, they look like a short film in terms of their narratives. Audience can relate the music videos to some fictional or real story prevalent in the society.
In this context, a song based on a real story has been made public with a title ‘Jindagi’.
The song 'Jindagi' is based on the true story of father Mahesh Awasthi, who donated liver to his two-month-old son Siwansha Awasthi.
Siwansha, who has been ill since the early days of his birth, received treatment in the Chennai-based hospital of India.
After keeping in the ICU for a month in Nepal, the disease did not go away and Mahesh took his son to India and saved him by spending a huge amount of money. Mahesh himself underwent liver transplant to save his son.
Popular singer Nishan Bhattarai has lent his voice in ‘Jindagi’. Musician Kamala Sapakota has penned the song and composed its music.
Musician Kamala said that the story of Mahesh Awasthi’stouching and painful struggle inspired her to write the song. She said, "In the song, we show the unimaginable struggle of the father to save his son."
Singer Nishan said that he was proud to be able to give voice to a song that inspires the entire Nepali society. He said, “I was very emotional when I recorded this song in the studio.
As the words and music are excellent, I have taken to sing this song as a good opportunity.”
The song has been made public through Nishan's personal YouTube channel. Singer Nishan has also announced that all the royalties coming from the song will be used for the treatment of Siwansha.
The music video has been directed by Yubaraj Yaiba. "It's a different job for me so far," said director Yaiba.
Yaiba has also requested people to spread the meaningful and unconditional love of a father to his child.
He said, “We have prepared this video free of cost even during the time of COVID-19 pandemic.
The video features Nirmal Neupane and Rekha Ghimire as father and mother of the child.
