Kathmandu, Feb. 28: Have you ever fantasised about experiencing the wonders of the world but have been held back by financial constraints? Well then those fantasies are about to become reality – in a way – because the 3D museum “Art in Paradise” has opened in Kathmandu.
In the museum, visitors can experience the 8848.86 metre height of Mount Everest in 4D, feel the thrill of walking through the Amazon Rainforest or relax at the beach.
“Art in Paradise is offers people a chance to visit exquisite destinations around the around and take a beautiful photo or two right here in Kathmandu,” Pradeep Sharma, operator of the museum, said. There are more than a hundred paintings that present 3D, 4D and 360-degree view of various locations in the museum.
Sharma shared they tried to include all the seven wonders of the world, and fantastical sites like glaciers and the Amazon in its nine 3D, one 4D and one 360-degree viewing section. “Visitors can experience all the wonders inside this museum,” he added.
The museum, located on the fifth floor of Kathmandu Mall in Sundhara, is run by five youths – Topnath Sapkota, Bhim Parajuli, Kul Tamang, Lakpa Tshering Sherpa and Pradeep Sharma, all of whom are tourism entrepreneurs.
Parajuli and Sharma had visited a similar museum in Thailand a couple of years ago and thought of replicating the idea here in Nepal.
“You will only be charged Rs. 500 for an hour’s tour of the museum,” Sharma said, adding that Art in Paradise was the first 3D museum of Nepal.
