Kathmandu, Aug. 19 : Dr. DR Upadhyaya has set yet another world record by publishing the same article in 36 national dailies on the same day.
Upadhyaya published a 1,051-word article titled ‘Causes and reduction of violence against women (Mahila Hinsako Karan Ra Nyunikaran)’ in 36 national dailies of Nepal on June 29. This has been recognised as the most published newspaper article by the same author on the same day by the Guinness Book of World Records.
Earlier, this record was held by Chris Jigger of the United Kingdom who had published an article on cancer awareness in 19 dailies.
Upadhyaya has so far set 52 world records in the fields of song, music, art and literature. “My aim with these records is to increase the pride of Nepal,” he said.
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba also congratulated Upadhyay on his record and handed over the recognition certificate awarded by Guinness on Monday amid a programme at Baluwatar.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Deuba also presented Guinness certificates to journalists Dabbu Chhetri, Krishna Bhusal, Naresh Bhattarai, Geeta Adhikari, Sarita Bharti and Raj Luintel.
