Kathmandu, Apr. 14: Every time the New Year rolls around, people set out a list of plans, goals, and dreams for the entire year. Especially, people set goals like losing weight, travel to their desired destinations, find a new job, buy new house or car, and some even set out the plan like start getting up early, start exercising or meditating and quitting drinking and so on.
However, Dipak Raj Giri has a different goal for this year. Soon after the current situation of pandemic comes to an end and people start living a normal life, he says he will be busy building an organic community in his own village in Thankot.
Talking to The Raising Nepal, the popular comedian said that people now a days were building a modern house everywhere, the old deigns of houses were disappearing and there was a high possibility that people would completely forget about the old design of houses.
Therefore, he has a plan to make an organic community to save the conventional houses in his village in Dahachok, Thankot, Chandragiri Municipality.
He added that the exterior of the houses would be completely traditional in design, even though the interior of the house would be modern with all the modern amenities so that people could experience the traditional homes with modern amenities.
He further said that in the initial phase he would build about five houses and later additional 30 to 35 houses.
He has already negotiated with his relatives and people of the village and municipality to materialize the plan of an organic village.
“I will further negotiate with central government as well, so that everyone should make the same type of houses in the village,” said Giri.
Likewise, Giri also has a plan to begin mrijuana cultivation after the government legalises the venture in Nepal.
“If the government legalises marijuana and cannabis cultivation in Nepal, I will return to my village and start cultivating marijuana and export it to other countries,” he shared his plan.
In regard to marijuana and cannabis cultivation in Nepal, Nepal Communist Party (NCP) lawmaker Birodh Khatiwada on January 27 with the support of other 44 lawmakers had registered a bill in the Parliament seeking its legalization. Likewise, on March 2, Sher Bahadur Tamang, a lawmaker and former minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs of the same party, had also registered a private bill in the House proposing for the legalization of cannabis in Nepal.
Giri is now busy in writing the script for his super hit film sequel Chakka Pannja 4 though the movie making process will be delayed because of the lockdown. He said that he was enjoying the lockdown time because people were always in rush after money and work but this time god had given a break for oneself even though the situation was adverse for the humankind,” said Giri.
