Kathmandu, July 19: Comedian Palpasa Dangol, popularly known as ‘Chamsuri’, is currently undergoing treatment at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), Maharajgunj after both of her kidneys failed.
Dangol had been undergoing kidney treatment for the past five years, but she had not disclosed or illness to anyone.
However, a month ago, after she had difficulty in her health, she was admitted to the TUTH for treatment.
According to the source, she was panicked when she did not bleed while undergoing kidney dialysis. Only after that news about her illness became public. Sources also informed that as per the doctors, she would require over Rs. 5 million for immediate kidney transplant.
After Dangol’s health condition became public, artistes including Kiran KC, Deepa Shree Niraula and others have started raising funds for her treatment and urged for kindey donors.
After starring in the comedy serial ‘Meri Bassai’, Dangol has been known among audience as Chamsuri. She also produced a serial called ‘Drishti’.
She has been living with her two daughters after she got separated from her husband a few years ago.
