Kathmandu, Nov 27: Culturist Dr. Satya Mohan Joshi has emphasised on the conservation of Nepali cultures.
Launching a Chinese TV serial –The Journey to the West—on Wednesday, Joshi urged the concerned authority to preserve various cultural rites and rituals being practiced in Nepal.
Theoretically, the communist does not protect cultures and religions, but in practice the Communists in China have been protecting their cultures, he said.
He also demanded allocation of budget for various indigenous people in order to promote their cultures. “Without protection and promotion of various cultures, unity among Nepalis cannot be strengthened,” he added.
Dr. Sarbottam Shrestha, president of Araniko Society, said that TV serial 'The Journey to the West' , which is translated in Nepali, is based upon a novel written by Chinese traveller Hua San who travelled to Nepal and India some 400 years ago.
According to a press statement of Arniko Society, 'The Journey to the West' has world records with three thousand times broadcasting.
Indigenous Television and Nepal Mandal Television are going to air the 25-episode serial.
