Bluebird's art exhibition begins at Patan Museum

By A Staff Reporter, Lalitpur, Feb. 27: Eminent art scholar and culture expert Dr. Satya Mohan Joshi inaugurated an art exhibition here at Patan Museum amidst a ceremony on Thursday.

Entitled as Pristine Beauty the display brings forth artistic creations of the students of Bluebird Secondary School and College.

Over 30 paintings depicting Nepal's natural, cultural and aesthetic aspects of life as created by the students of the college have been put on display that will run through Feb. 29.

Upbeat by the fact that the Bluebird has come up with an inspiring idea to promote fine arts, living legend  Joshi said that he would be happy to extend any support to students by sharing his knowledge and expertise for promoting fine arts.

He lauded Bluebird secondary school and college for offering courses on fine arts, sculpture, music and dance which has made it a leading institution in the field. "Bluebird has done a good job by providing students such opportunities to learn and promote cultural aspect of life," he said.

Bir Singh Chhetri, Principal/CEO, Bluebird Secondary School and College announced in the inaugural ceremony that the college would offer a full scholarship for a student in fine arts faculty in the name of culture expert Joshi. "From this year onwards, we will offer Satya Mohan Joshi scholarship to a student in grade 11 in arts," he said.

 

Principal Chhetri said that the art exhibition was part of the school's focus on imparting practical knowledge to students in addition to theoretical ones in all streams of studies.
