Kathmandu, Mar. 15: Actress Bipana Thapa who dominated the film industry until a decade and a half ago, is now not in the industry.
She quit the industry after tying nuptial knot with Dr. Ashutosh Bhardwoj in 2008. She has been living in India since then.
However, she was present in the 10th NEFTA Film Award held on Saturday at Soaltee Crowne Plaza.
When she found amid her colleagues of the industry in a gap of 14 years, she was unable to control her tears.
“After 14 years, I am remembered by the film industry,” she said. “For 14 years no one remembered me. But today, I am very happy to be here,” she said when tears rolled down her cheeks.
“Maybe, even though I am not in Nepal, I have not been remembered. But my technicians have remembered me. I feel like I am at home today.”
Actress Thapa has done 111 Nepali films during her long career in the then booming film industry of Nepal.
She further added, “I never thought so many people would still remember me. I am an actor with 111 films in my credit but I have never been invited to any event by the film industry,” she said emotionally.
Actress Thapa also informed that she would return to Nepali film industry soon. Besides, Thapa is a fashion designer.
