Kathmandu, Nov. 17: The government has collected about 82.81 per cent of revenue of the total target in the last Fiscal Year 2020/21, according to the annual report of the Financial Comptroller General's Office (FCGO).
Chief Financial Comptroller General, Suman Raj Aryal, submitted the report to Finance Minister Janardan Sharma on Tuesday.

The government had targeted to collect Rs. 1072 billion revenue, including Rs. 912.94 billion tax and Rs. 159.33 billion non-tax revenue, last year. But it was able to collect Rs. 888.01 billion revenue amidst the raging COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the report, of the total 1474.64 billion estimated budget of the last year, Rs. 1196.6 billion was mobilised. It makes 81.15 per cent of the total budget.
About 82.32 per cent budget was managed from the government resources while 17.68 per cent was managed through foreign sources – including 3.4 per cent grant and 14.64 per cent loan.

Likewise, the reserved fund of the federal government is in Rs. 107.16 billion surplus.
The fund received Rs. 1267.49 billion and Rs. 1160.33 billion was mobilised from it.
Accepting the report, FM Sharma said that the government was paying attention to making systematic reforms in revenue collection and clearing arrears.
He emphasised on amending the laws and policies, strengthening institutions and building confidence to increase the development budget.
