Kathmandu, Mar. 12: Postponed by the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent lockdown, the 10th LIC NEFTA (Nepal Film Technician Association Film Awards) is now slated to be held on Saturday at Soaltee Crowne Plaza in Kathmandu amidst a grand ceremony.
More than a dozen artistes including Shovit Basnet, Salon Basnet, Chhulthim Gurung, Rubina Thapa, Jebika Karki, among others will added charm to the ceremony through their performances.
Sandeep Chhetri, Sanjok Basyal and Malvika Subba will be hosting the programme.
Pushkar Lama, the president of NEFTA, who has been working tirelessly in the film industry for a long time, is leaving no stone unturned to make the programme as grand as possible.
“I believe that this year’s NEFTA award will help revive the pandemic-hit Nepali film industry,” said Lama, urging all to unite in alleviating the sufferings of the film industry.
This award, which used to be conducted in Nepal till its fifth edition, was held in foreign countries, like Malaysia, Hong Kong, Qatar and Dubai, since 6th edition.
The prince of Dubai himself participated in the 2016-award function, held in Dubai.
Actress Bipana Thapa, who is currently in Nepal, is also expected to participate in the award. From Superstar Rajesh Hamal to many artistes old and new, including Niruta Singh, will be participating in the ceremony, said Lama.
The award, which is being organized by Film Technical Association, will be given to the best of the films -- in different categories -- released in the year 2075 BS.
