Second factory at Bhairahawa starts commercial production

Bhairahawa, Nov.15: Global Private Limited has become the second factory at the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Bhairahawa that has formally started its commercial production.
Earlier, Shakti Minerals Private Limited, the first factory in the SEZ, had started the commercial production in June.
Global Private Limited came into operation in the SEZ, Bhairahawa, aiming to export its product in the international market.
Though Bhairahawa SEZ was opened in 2017, it took over two years for the installation of industries.
Under-secretary of SEZ Authority Sundar Thapa on Thursday inaugurated the industry that produces steels utensils.
The industry has invested around Rs. 150 million where around 100 people were employed, said Yogesh Jain, proprietor of the industry.
The industry is producing steels utensils for the domestic uses.
He said that the monthly production capacity of the industry is around 300 metric tonnes.
“We are starting to export steels utensils to Dubai, Saudi, Nigeria and Africa. We will export our goods to India and other countries as per the necessity,” he said.
According to him, they will hire additional workers as per the necessity and production.
Inaugurating the industry, Thapa said that the government had introduced the concept of SEZ with a view to promote export and create job opportunities inside the country by establishing of industries.
The main objective of the SEZ was also to reduce the trade deficit, he said, adding that the SEZ would help create jobs opportunities in local level.
Vice Chair of Rohani Rural Municipality Shivakanti Harijan said that it was an important achivement to start the commercial production by Global Private Limited as second industry in SEZ, Bhairahawa.
Chairman of Rohani Rural Municipality-1 Aabid Ali Pathan said that the industry should give first priority to the locals in jobs.
Chief Administration Officer of Rural Municipality Ram Prasad Gyawali said that industrialists should pay due attention to provide jobs to youth by establishing industries inside the country instead of investing for the establishing industries outside the country.
General Secretary of Siddhartha Industry, Chamber of Commerce Netra Prasad Acharya said bringing the SEZ into operation was delayed due to the government’s failure to create industry friendly environment in the country.
