Kathmandu, Oct. 14 : Representatives of Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) called on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and drew his attention to resolve the problems of the economic and industrial sectors.
The CNI team led by its president Satish Kumar More met Prime Minister Oli on Sunday evening at Prime Minister Oli’s official residence in Baluwatar.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Oli assured the business leaders to resolve the problems facing by the economic and industrial sectors as he was sincere about the problems of those sectors, read a statement of CNI.
Talking about the state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Prime Minister said that the private sector should be ready to utilise the new opportunities received in the economic and infrastructure development.
On the occasion, CNI President More congratulated Prime Minister Oli for making the state visit of Chinese President Xi a success.
He said that the private sector was encouraged from the memorandum of understandings signed on various sectors, including trans-Himalaya connectivity, which would help enhance connectivity between Nepal and China.
He said that active initiation of the government to implement the MoUs was a must for the economic development of Nepal.
“Big infrastructure of connectivity and establishment of mechanism for the expansion of trade and commerce will be a big support for Nepal’s economic development. So, we, the private sector, are more encouraged from President Xi’s visit,” he said.
He said that the CNI was expecting efforts from the Prime Minister to resolve the problems faced by the industrial sector as the CNI was supporting to achieve the goals of the government.
Immediate past president of CNI Hari Bhakta Sharma said frequent change of the government officials from one place to another had affected the industrial and business sectors.
