Plantation over in 76% paddy fields

Kathmandu, July 19: Paddy plantation has completed in about 76.44 per cent of the total paddy fields across the country as of July 15.
According to the statistics of the Department of Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, paddy plantation has been carried out in 1,048,507 of 1.37 million hectares of paddy fields.
By July 15 last year, paddy plantation had completed in 81.58 per cent (1,119,091 hectares) of paddy fields.
Paddy plantation completed in about 69.52 per cent (33,504 hectares) of land in the mountain region, 73.63 per cent (254,848 hectares) in the hilly region and 77.77 per cent (760,135 hectares) in the Terai.
Paddy is grown in around 48,193 hectares of land in the mountain region, 346,099 hectares in the hilly region and 977,414 hectares in the Terai.
Paddy plantation completes in Karnali Province
Paddy plantation has almsot completed in Karnali and Sudurpashchim Provinces.
By now, paddy plantation has completed in the largest area of paddy field in Karnali Province followed by Sudurpashchim and Lumbini Provinces among all seven provinces. In Karnali Province, paddy plantation has completed in 99.03 per cent (38,012 hectares) of land while 90.71 per cent (149,346 hectares) in Sudurpaschim and 86.94 per cent (263,940 hectares) of paddy fields as of July 15.
Paddy is grown in around 38,385 hectares of land in Karnali Province, 164,639 hectares in the Sudurpashchim and 303,593 hectares in Lumbini Province.
Likewise, the lowest paddy plantation has been done in province-1 where plantation has completed only in 64.48 per cent (177,905 hectares) of the total paddy field of 275,901 hectares till the date.
Paddy plantation has completed in 78.35 per cent (90,330 hectares) of land in Bagmati Province and in 72.40 per cent (78,390 hectares) in Gandaki Province.
Likewise, in Province-2, paddy planation has completed in 68.54 per cent of paddy field (250,582 hectares) during the review period.
