Kathmandu, Nov. 3: More than 4,700 children aged below 10 years have been infected with COVID-19 in Nepal. According to the latest data of the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), among the 173,567 infected people, 4,777 are children aged below 10 years. Among them, 2,824 are boys and 1,953 girls.
Similarly, 12,511 infected were from the age group between 11 and 20 years. Likewise, the largest number of infected persons is from the age group of 21-30 years. They count 50,230.
At the meantime, 46,441 infected persons are from the age group of 31-40 years and 27,783 from the age group of 41-50 years. Similarly, 16,794 of the infected are from the age group of 51-60 years and 8,351 from the group of 61-70 years while 3,978 belong to the age group of 71-80 years and 1,556 are aged above 80 years.
2,933 new cases, 24 casualties
Nepal on Monday reported 2,933 new cases of COVID-19 with 24 fatalities from across the country.
With this, the nationwide infection count has increased to 176,500 and death toll reached 984. The MoHP reported that 1,757 males and 1,176 females of 13,446 people who went through real time- polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests across the country in the past 24 hours were diagnosed with the COVID-19. 
As per the update, the Kathmandu Valley confirmed 1,630 cases. Of them, 928 are males and 702 females, taking the valley’s COVID-19 case tally to 79,600.
Likewise, 3,150 people, who were earlier infected with the virus, tested negative for the virus in the last 24 hours. So far, 137,992 individuals have recovered from the COVID-19 in Nepal.
