Kathmandu, Dec. 31: New Modi (Parbat)-Lahachowk (Kaski) 132 kV double circuit transmission line has come into operation from Wednesday.
The construction of the New Modi-Lahachowk section under the New Modi-Lekhnath Transmission Line Project has been completed and came into operation from Wednesday.

The line has been charged by connecting 30 MVA power transformer at 132/ 33 KV substation in Lahachok, according to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).
Electricity supply will be provided to Machhapuchchhre and Annapurna Rural Municipalities of Kaski from the completed substation. This will ensure quality and reliable power supply in the area, said Kul Man Ghising, Managing Director of NEA.

He said that there were problems such as tripping and low voltage when the power supply line from Pokhara to the area was long. Now, with the supply from Lahachowk substation, the electricity service of the area will be improved and consumers will get reliable and quality electricity, he said.

Ghising said that electricity leakage will also be reduced.
Under the project, 68 towers have been constructed in this section and 21 kilometers of wire has been installed.

The construction of New Modi-Lahachowk section transmission line has been completed under the New Modi-Lekhnath project constructed with a concessional loan from Exim Bank of India.
Project Chief Roshan Agrawal said that the Lahachowk-Lekhnath section of the project, which was started on July 21, 2018, is being affected due to obstruction of locals and problems in the forest area.
