By A Staff Reporter, Kathmandu, Feb. 2: The share market has recorded significant growth on the very first day of transaction of the week on Sunday.
Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), benchmark capital market index, has posted a double digit growth of 21.26 points with the turnover of Rs. 2.07 billion today.
The sub-indices of all groups, except trading and life insurance, increased significantly in today’s transaction.
According to NEPSE, sub-indices of non-life insurance group increased with the highest point of 101.52 points to close at 6,002.96 points.
Likewise, the sub-indices of manufacturing, development bank, commercial banks and microfinance group posted a growth of 47.78 points, 28.32 points, 27.04 points and 22.13 points respectively.
Likewise, the sub-indices of hotels, hydropower, finance, others’ and mutual fund went up by 8.66 points, 3.09 points, 4.18 points, 3.16 points and 0.07 points respectively.
However, the sub-indices of trading and non-life insurance group declined by 0.62 points and 1.09 points to stand at 785.91 points and 7557.44 points respectively.
The NEPSE registered transaction with 175 companies making the turnover of around Rs. 2.07 billion with a total of 5.34 million shares through 20,635 transactions.
The sensitive index which measures the index of group “A” increased by 4.99 points to close at 286.75 points on Sunday.
Shareholders of Gramin Bikash Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha, Naya Nepal Laghubitta Bikas Bank, Mithila Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha, Global IME Sumunnat Scheme-1 and Janutthan Samudayic Laghubitta Bikas Bank were the top losers in today’s transaction.
However, shareholders of Guheshowori Merchant Bank and Finance, Synergy Power Development, Arun Kabeli Power, Multipurpose Finance Company and Samata Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha were top gainers today.
