Kathmandu, Nov.11: Japan has shown its interest to invest in the irrigation sector of Nepal.
During a meeting with the Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Barshaman Pun on Monday, a delegation from Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forest and Fisheries (MAFF) proposed to invest in the irrigation sector of Nepal.
The delegation led by Takami Nakada, Deputy Director-General for International Affairs, Minister’s Secretariat, MAFF discussed with the Minister Pun to support for the irrigation projects run in the Terai.
A 25-member delegation from Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF), including agricultural experts and business persons, arrived in Nepal Sunday for an official visit.
Giving thanks to the government of Japan for its support, Minister Pun said that the government had expected further support in the irrigation sector in the days to come.
