Sindhupalchowk, Oct. 29: The import from China via Tatopani checkpoint resumed on Thursday. The Customs Office has informed that a container entered the country.
A container truck carrying apples entered via the checkpoint which was closed since September 27. The office further said at least seven Chinese containers will bring in goods to Nepali yards from Friday.
Chief District Officer in Sindhupalchowk, Umesh Kumar Dhakal, also said import was resumed via the checkpoint and the road department would immediately begin road repair. The COVID-19 pandemic and the rain-caused havoc were behind the obstruction of import via this border point.
