Hotel business rebounds in Banke as tourist arrivals rise after lockdown

Nepalgunj, Dec. 13: The hotel business in Banke, which was shut down for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is now flourishing.
According to the businessman, the hotel business has started flourishing after the arrival of tourists from India and third countries.

With the increasing flow of tourists, the process of increasing investment and upgrading of hotels in Nepalgunj, a major city of western Nepal, has also started.
Due to which the number of star hotels is increasing.

In the meantime, Hotel City Palace has gained four-star recognition by adding an investment of Rs. 250 million to modernise its physical infrastructure.
Bhim Kandel, president of the Hotel Entrepreneurs' Association, Banke, said that the number of Indian tourists has increased after the private airlines started operating flights in Rara and other hilly areas of Mugu along with Nepalgunj and Pokhara and reopening casinos in Nepalgunj.

He said that the hotel business was reviving as the number of Indian tourists visiting casinos and visiting Pokhara was increasing.
Nepalgunj is a gateway for domestic and foreign tourists to visit western Nepal. The standard hotel here is helping to make their stay comfortable and simple.
It is said that the hotel has been upgraded keeping this in mind.

Abdul Wahid Mansuri, president of the Nepalgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the hotel business was flourishing in Banke as it is easy to visit Mansarovar, Shey Phoksundo Lake, Rara, Swargadwari, Banke Bardiya National Park, Dailekh and Surkhet religious and tourist destinations from Nepalgunj.

Lokendra Aryal, manager of Hotel City Palace, said that the hotel had been made with quality and modern facilities by improving the physical infrastructure.
He said that the City Palace has changed its appearance after getting the four-star recognition.
