Gulmi banks draw crowds

Tamghas, June 11: The banks operating in Tamghas are crowded with people seeking services.
With the administration's decision to open banks for three hours a day, the queue of people has increased at the banks.
The bank has been closed since May 2, 2021 and the administration has decided to keep it open for three hours from June 8. The administration had decided to reopen the bank daily from 7 am to 10 am from June 8 to 14.
SBI Bank, Banijya Bank and Global IME Bank of Tamghas are crowded with people seeking services.
Service recipients said that they came to the bank quickly to withdraw money as bank was open after a long time and it was not known when it would be closed again.
Gunanidhi Bhusal, manager of Banijya Bank Gulmi branch, said that 496 people received services from Banijya Bank Gulmi in two days (Tuesday and Wednesday).
Similarly, 254 people received services from Global IME Bank, said manager Yogendra Rayamajhi.
Rayamajhi said that arrangements have been made to measure the fever and enter only by wearing a sanitizer when entering the bank.
Meanwhile, general secretary of Gulmi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tara Prasad Bhusal said that it was not appropriate to operate the banks in the morning.
Bhusal said that a meeting of the District COVID Management Committee held at the District Administration Office decided to operate the bank from 10 am to 1 pm.
However, the Chief District Officer had issued the order to operate in the morning.
Meanwhile, Chief District Officer of Gulmi Rudra Debi Sharma said that the bank was crowded because they were open after a long time.
Sharma claimed that the Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force have been mobilised to reduce crowding, maintain physical distance and follow health standards.
Sharma said that they have coordinated with the stakeholders over the phone to operate the bank in the morning.
