Kathmandu, Dec. 11: In a bid to make it easier for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to sell their product to national and international customers, the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has signed an agreement with online marketplace, Daraz.

The agreement was signed by FNCCI President Shekar Golcha and Daraz Managing Director Lino Ahlering at a programme organised at the FNCCI Secretariat on Thursday.
This agreement is a collaborative effort to integrate SMEs associated with FNCCI on Daraz, said the FNCCI in a statement.

According to it, SMEs are an important part of Nepal’s economy and they’re the ones that been heavily affected by the COVID pandemic, so the FNCCI has placed special emphasis on its revival.
“Under this agreement, new SMEs registered through this programme will not have to pay any fees for one year from January 2022 to December 2022 and will receive better promotions, visibility along with other added benefits. Daraz will also provide the right education and skills to SMEs to grow their online business,” read the statement.

FNCCI President Golchha said that this cooperation with Daraz is a milestone in the revival of SMEs throughout Nepal. He urged the SMEs to take full advantage of this opportunity.
The SME sector still needs more support and we will continue to work towards the empowerment of small businesses across Nepal, said Lino Ahlering.
