By Amrit Prasad Poudel, Beni, Mar. 10: The flow of Indian tourists has been increasing in Muktinath temple, sacred to both Hindus and Buddhists, of late.

After the Pokhara-Jomsom flight services started on March 6, Mustang has observed an increase in the number of tourists from India.

After Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi visited Muktinath temple in May 2018, there had been a rise in flow of Indian devotees at the temple.

However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic followed by a nationwide lockdown from March last year, the Muktinath temple had worn a deserted look.

"After Tara Air and Summit Air resumed Pokhara-Jomsom flights, there has been an increase in the flow of tourists," said Bir Bahadur Gurung, ward chair.

According to Chairman Gurung, around 500 Indian tourists had been visiting the temple daily.

Similarly, according to Khagendra Tulachan, Chairman of Hoteliers' Association, Mustang, the hoteliers have also observed a boom in their business following the resumption of flight services in Mustang.
