Humla, Dec. 31: Air service has resumed to and from Simkot in Humla on Thursday after being disturbed for two days owing to snowfall.
The air service, the only transportation facility to Humla, was halted for two days since authorities were clearing the snow accumulated in the runway of the Simkot Airport.

“Airport officials, security personnel, medicinal herbs businesspersons and locals had united to clear the snow in the apron and other areas of the airport. The clearing was completed by morning and the service resumed from 12 pm,” said Mohan Giri, chief of the Civil Aviation Office, Simkot.

Neither passengers nor goods reached Humla for two days. “After the snow was cleared from the airport, cargos have started arriving,” informed the Food Management and Trading Company of Humla.
The locals faced problems in buying groceries and vegetables for two days because of obstruction in flights.

Locals are now happy after transporting of goods, medicinal herbs and passengers resumed.
Sita Air made the first flight after the airport came into operation on Thursday and was followed by flights from Tara Air and Summit Air.
This was the third time that the air service was obstructed in Humla because of snowfall this winter.
