Fire in a biscuit factory: loss of over Rs. 9 million

By Our Correspondent, Bhairahawa, Feb. 17: Property worth Rs. 8.8 million was destroyed when a biscuit industry located at Omsatiya Gaunpalika of Rupandehi district caught fire Sunday night.

Factory of Nebiko biscuit located at Parsauni of Omsatiya Gaunpalika Ward No. 4 had caught fire.

Rajesh Kumar Rauniyar, proprietor of the factory, informed that property worth Rs. 8.8 million had been destroyed in the fire.

Rainiyar said that the factory caught fire at around 7pm and it was brought under control at 9 pm using fire engines of Sidharthanagar Municipality and a team of District Police office and local people.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Khadak Bahadur Khatri said that the fire might be caused due to electric short circuit.
