By Chhabi Pande, Butwal, Oct. 4: Different business and professional organisations in Butwal Sunday took out a protest demonstration against the proposal registered by the Stat 5 government at the State Assembly to relocate State 5 capital from Butwal to Deukhuri of Dang district.

The rally led by different business associations in Rupandehi district had the slogan that the State capital should not be relocated and that Butwal should be named as permanent capital of State 5.

Khim Bahadur Hamal, Chairman of Butwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Rupandehi, spoke against transferring the Capital after fixing it once while addressing the demonstration.

He argued that it was unwise to relocate State Capital after building infrastructure in Butwal for the same. "We have also contributed a lot to the construction of physical infrastructure here for State Capital."

Yam Lal Lohani, Chair of Rupandehi Chamber of Commerce, said that advantage to larger number of people should be considered while making decision on permanent seat of the State 5 and not geography alone.

Addressing the protest rally, Chairs of different business associations including that of West Nepal Bus Entrepreneurs Association, Dadhiram Kharel and Manimukunda Garden, Khem Luitel, viewed that keeping Butwal as the permanent capital of State 5 would benefit most people of the state and that the decision to transfer the capital was wrong.
