By Nabin Sishir BK, Baglung, Oct. 30: Located at Dohori in Bhimapokhara of Kathekhola Rural Municipality-2 in Baglung, Daregauda Hill of late is becoming the center for domestic tourism.

Situated 2,475 meters above the sea-level, dozens of mountain ranges including Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manapathi and Machhapuchre, along with Myagdi, Parbat and Gulmi can be seen from the Dareganda Hill.

With its breathtaking site, the hill has been luring a lot of tourists in recent times.

"This place is like a heaven for the nature lovers who would want to spend their day in between the Himalayas," said Prem KC, a local. "Tourism in Dohori would develop if a walking trail leading to Daregauda Hill is constructed."

KC complained that no formal initiatives were taken from any authority for the development of the tourism sector in Daregauda, which joins Baglung and Myagdi.

"Bhimapokhara can be established as a tourist destination if community home-stays are created at Dohori and if Daregauda is conserved for sightseeing," added KC.

One can reach Daregauda by hiking for around two hours after traveling 26 kilometers via vehicle from Baglung headquarters.

"As the unmetalled road leads to Dohori, if a trail is constructed in the Jungle area, Daregauda could be the new tourist destination in Myagdi and Baglung districts," said Bikram Sharma, a local.

"Daregauda is the appropriate place to view Himalayan ranges in the fresh air by enjoying organic food," said Sharma.
