Construction of Badera sub-station reaches its final stage

By Gopi Gyawali, Nawalparasi, Feb. 26: The construction works of sub-station of New Butwal Vardaghat 220 KV Transmission Line in Sunawal Badera of Nawalparasi (West) has reached its final stage.

The construction of sub-station, which had been halted for a long time due to the COVID-19 pandemic has now regained its pace.

Ashok Pokharel, information officer of the sub-station project said that the construction of the sub-station would complete soon.

The construction of the sub-station of the transmission line covering around 20 Bighas land in Suryabasti of Sunawal Municipality-13 had kicked off from Poush, 2075 BS, informed Aananda Subedi, project engineer at New Butwal Vardaghat Transmission Line.

Likewise, information officer Pokharel, who is also the transmission chief, said, "The construction of over one dozen of electricity tower, control room, installation of equipment, quarter,  store, security post, and transformer station had already completed."

He added that the project was preparing to conduct the trial of the sub-station soon.

Tata Projects Limited has undertaken the contract for the construction of the substation.

The sub-station will be transmitting the electricity produced from the Kaligandaki area to the cities under construction in the mid-Terai regions. The electricity from the Kaligandaki basin would be connected to the National Transmission Line which would further ease in transmitting electricity to Nawalparasi, Butwal, and Bhairahawa areas among others.
