Hetauda, Sept. 6: The locals of Raksirang Gaunpalika are finally relieved as the government has allocated a budget of Rs. 20 million to build a road along Parewavir, a place where many have lost their lives.
Locals were bound to crawl along steep bank of the Manahari River, also known as Parewavir, in Ward 4 of Raksirang as they were unable to cross it over to another side. And many individuals are swept away by the river every year.
Despite such danger the authorities failed to pay heed to their plight, leaving the locals furious; they were more upset when the Bagmati State government allocated Rs. 20 million for Ring Road construction but not a single penny for a normal road in Parewavir.
However, the authorities have now allocated budget for the construction of a road along Parewavir.
“Earlier the budget was not enough. We then had requested the Finance Ministry and now have received Rs. 20 million for the construction of the road,” said Birodh Khatiwada, a parliamentary member from Makwanpur.
According to the local authority, the Detailed Project Report (DPR) has estimated around Rs 70 million as the cost of the road construction.
“We have received a handsome grant from the central government and the local government alongside the State government will complete the overall construction by managing other required resources,” said Raj Kumar Malla, chairman of Raksirang Gaunpalika.
The authorities expect to complete the construction by next fiscal year.
