Okhaldhunga, Aug. 28: The 52.2-Megawatts (MW) Likhu-4 Hydropower Project, under construction on the border river Likhu of Okhaldhunga and Ramechhap districts, is issuing 625 million shares.
Of this, 50 per cent is reserved for residents of the affected areas and staff of the hydropower company while the remaining 50 per cent will be available to the general public.

A total of 31.25 million shares worth Rs. 312.5 million are being issued to the residents of the affected areas and employees of the project and 31.25 million for the general public. The Likhu Rural Municipality of Okhaldhunga-9 Pokli, Khijidemba Rural Municipality Ward No. 1, 2 and 3 and Ward No. 3, 4, 5 and 7 of Mukahunda of Ramechhap and Likhu Tamakoshi Rural Municipality Ward No. 1, 2 and 3 are listed in the affected area.


Although the construction site of the project lies in the geography of Okhaldhunga, the affected areas are seven erstwhile VDCs of Ramechhap and only three such VDCs of Okhaldhunga district.
According to the locals of the affected areas of Okhaldhunga, the project has discriminated against such areas of Ramechhap and Okhaldhunga.
This project is being constructed by Green Ventures Limited.
